G&M Electrics Ltd is a NAPIT registered electrical company based in Merthyr Tydfil, serving homeowners across South Wales. Director Gavin Morgan qualified as an electrician in 2018 and started the business to offer local people electrical work they can genuinely rely on.
We specialise in EV charger installations and consumer unit replacements, two jobs where getting the details right really matters. From sizing a charge point to your car, to bringing an older fuse board up to current standards, we take the time to do the work properly and explain it in plain English.

We agree a fixed price with you up front and confirm the payment details before we start, so there are no surprises when the job is done.
Most home EV charger installations fall between £700 and £1,000 supplied and fitted. The final price depends on the charger you choose, where it is mounted and how far the cable has to run. We confirm a fixed price before starting.
Not always. If your existing board has spare capacity we can wire the charger straight in. If it does not, we fit a separate small consumer unit just for the charger, which avoids the cost of a full board upgrade.
A straightforward home installation is usually completed in a few hours on the same day. We will give you a clear idea of timing when we quote the job.
Yes. We install workplace charge points as well as home units. Get in touch with the number of chargers and the site details and we will put a quote together for you.
Yes. We take care to keep cable runs neat and concealed where possible, so the finished charge point looks like part of the property rather than an afterthought.
A new consumer unit is usually between £800 and £1,000, depending on the number of circuits and the condition of the existing wiring. We give you a fixed price after a quick look at your current board.
Your power is normally off for around three hours while we carry out the change. We work efficiently to get you back up and running as quickly as possible.
Older boards offer far less protection than a modern unit and can trip for no clear reason. A new consumer unit adds RCD and surge protection, brings your installation up to current standards and makes your home safer.
Yes. Once the new board is in we test the full installation, hand you a certificate and talk you through what has been done.
Not necessarily. Constant tripping is often caused by an old board or a single faulty circuit rather than the whole installation. We can find the fault and, in many cases, a new consumer unit sorts it without the cost of a full rewire.
